Thick Mica Sheet Series
Thick mica sheet, also called heavy-duty mica sheet, is built on mica paper bonded with a high-temperature resistant silicone resin, then baked and pressed at high temperature. It is characterised by greater thickness, high density and outstanding mechanical strength.
It can be turned, drilled, ground and milled into complex parts to meet demanding industrial requirements.
Machining and selection
- Precision machining to drawing — turning, drilling, grinding and milling — with finished parts delivered.
- Suited to parts that must combine structural strength, dimensional stability and heat-resistant insulation.
- Non-toxic; an ideal replacement for asbestos.
- Thickness and sheet size are confirmed against the drawing before production.
What this grade gives you
- Excellent machinability: turning, drilling, grinding and milling, with custom shapes.
- Outstanding heat resistance: continuous service at 500–600 °C, intermittent up to 800–1000 °C.
- High electrical insulation: dielectric strength >20 kV/mm at room temperature, still good at elevated temperature.
- High density, low water absorption: density 2.0–2.35 g/cm³, water absorption <0.5%, a dense and stable structure.
- Environmental and safety: UL94 V-0 rated, non-toxic, an ideal replacement for asbestos.
