Combustion experiment

YT MICA's fire-resistant combustion laboratory focuses on fire safety evaluation of fire-resistant cables. It provides a standardised, digitised and repeatable test platform for cable fire-resistance testing, including circuit integrity tests.

The test system follows GB/T 19216.21, IEC 60331 and other domestic and international standards, and covers power, control and data cables rated 0.6/1 kV and below. A precisely controlled flame simulation system is used to evaluate whether a cable maintains circuit integrity, power supply and signal transmission under fire conditions.

Flame temperature covers the standard 750–950 °C range, with higher temperatures available on request. Tests can be combined with impact, vibration and water spray conditions to reproduce harsh service environments. Sample types include power cables, control cables, data cables and mineral-insulated cables.

Drawing on these testing capabilities and a data-based evaluation system, the laboratory supports R&D validation, fire certification, project acceptance and failure analysis for fire-resistant cables, mineral-insulated cables and fire-resistant control cables. It serves cable manufacturers, fire engineering contractors and key projects in rail transit, nuclear power, high-rise buildings and data centres, as well as third-party certification bodies.
